WE KNOW YOU’VE GOT QUESTIONS. LET US ANSWER THEM!

Where is the 2025 in-person APPLY Event happening?

We are in the final stages of confirming our 2025 APPLY Venue. Stay tuned! We will send updates via email, post on social media, and update our website as soon as that is confirmed!

Do I need the Whova app or a Whova account to purchase a ticket?

No. Tickets can be purchased directly through the links above or on our website – without the Whova app or an account. You will be guided through all necessary checkout steps AFTER you have the Ticket in your cart. You will have ample time after adding the Ticket to your cart to add registration credentials.

Do I enter the Guardian or Student’s name as the “Ticket Holder” when purchasing my ticket on Whova?

Please enter the Student’s name as the “Ticket Holder.”

I/my student wants to Audition at DTCB, but I didn’t get an Audition Ticket in Batch #1, what should I do?

Try again in Batch #2. If you don’t get it then, you can join the waitlist on June 2nd.

I/my student wants to Audition at DTCB, but I didn’t get an Audition Ticket in Batch #1, can I buy a regular In-Person ticket and then join the Waitlist on June 2nd?

You can, but please note that all DTCB Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferrable. This means that if you were to move off of the Waitlist and be offered an Audition Ticket, you would not get a refund for the regular In-Person Ticket.

I/my student wants to Audition at DTCB, but Audition Tickets are sold out, is it worth just getting an In-person Ticket?

YES! Participating in the DTCB Program is of great value, even without attending our Audition! Non-auditioning DTCB Students will still receive all of the same educational materials/sessions, be able to make meaningful connections with Program Representatives from across the country and abroad, and better understand the field at large through DTCB.

Will there be a DTCB Event on the West Coast this year?

Given current circumstances, there will NOT be an event on the West Coast. However, DTCB has made efforts to improve the accessibility of our program by increasing student capacity and continued enhancements to the virtual participation.

I’m a student interested in studying Dance in higher education but am not a senior. Can I still attend/register?

Yes! We encourage underclassmen to attend DTCB as it’s a great way to build relationships with colleges/universities/dance programs before you have to audition. There are so many programs out there and by attending DTCB before your senior year, you’ll gain invaluable insights to prepare you for the application process. You’ll also be able to meet school representatives, ask pertinent questions and learn directly from industry professionals.

Where can I find a list of participating schools?

The most updated information about participating schools will be posted on our website when the time comes. We will also announce programs via socials so be sure to follow us and join our mailing list to stay updated.

I see tickets are non-refundable. What if I purchased the wrong ticket or no longer want to participate?
  • If you no longer wish to participate, your ticket fees will go towards our Go Beyond Fund or to support our Brooklyn non-profit organization, Dancewave.
  • If you purchased the wrong ticket and would like to exchange, please see the questions below.
I bought a ticket and can no longer attend, can I transfer my ticket to someone else I know?

Unfortunately, due to capacity limitations we are unable to transfer tickets. Please email dtcb@dancewave.org if you are no longer able to attend.

If I participate in the DTCB auditions, will it count towards my application to the program?

Your DTCB audition will be considered by all audition panel programs. We recommend connecting with program representatives if you wish to explore opportunities to submit supplementary materials or want to participate in auditions hosted directly by that program.

Students are responsible for completing and submitting all application requirements outside of the audition (essays, test scores, transcripts, etc.) Keep in mind some programs require you to apply to both the school and department separately.

How will we know the results of the audition? When do schools make their decisions?

Every program is on their own timeline but will contact auditionees directly about scholarship offers and program acceptances by May 2026. If you want specific dates, connect with program representatives.

DTCB is not involved in the decision making process for any program and does not receive notification of students admission offers or scholarships. DTCB is not responsible for any correspondence between candidates and school after the event closes.
