DTCB supports high school students through the entire college application and audition process – from the moment they start researching programs to hitting submit on their applications. DTCB brings 15 years of trusted relationships with college representatives to help students and families make informed decisions about their future.

We offer three touchpoints throughout the year to provide valuable information, prepare you for the next steps, and support you during your application season.

INFORM

SPRING

INFORM is a compilation of workshops meant to help young NYC high school students, from freshmen to seniors, get the information they need to make informed decisions about their college education. From Pre-screened audition to mental health and wellness in dance, you’ll get a comprehensive understanding of what to expect during the application process.

Our INFORM session allows you to connect directly with industry professionals and start gathering the building blocks for your future. You’ll also have the opportunity to hear directly from students and artists who have participated in and benefitted from DTCB during our Alumni Panel.

PREPARE

SUMMER

Open to all high school students students, PREPARE is an exciting event that packs all the punches of its NYC counterpart into a smaller, more intimate setting right in the heart of the Pacific Northwest.

PREPARE isn’t about perfecting your pirouettes; it’s about understanding and defining your college experience. This is where you’ll shape the vision for your future – whether it’s exploring different dance styles, discovering potential career opportunities, or envisioning the campus atmosphere that feels like home.

APPLY

FALL

Our signature event located in the heart of New York City!

APPLY is the only event of it’s kind – allowing students the unique opportunity to audition for up to 60 dance programs in one afternoon.

Embracing the importance of community building, we host multiple sessions encouraging students to connect directly with college representatives, allowing them autonomy as they progress through their college journey.

Join us for classes led by college faculty, informative sessions, a networking event, audition, and so much more.

Pathways in Dance Panel (#)

A staple of the DTCB event, the Pathways in Dance panel is an opportunity for students and parents to get an understanding of what they can expect beyond their higher education training.

Masterclasses (*#)

Dancing together outside of the DTCB Auditions is an important part of our event! Participating in our classes is a great way to experience college level classes in an intimate setting.

Program Fair (*)

Find the right program for YOU! Our college fair provides you the opportunity to learn about the unique qualities each school provides, ask questions, and network with college representatives.

Program Showcase (#)

The showcase is a great way to get a feel for the work a Dance Program does throughout the year. See what strikes your fancy, what moves you. You may be surprised by what you see.

Auditions (#)

DTCB’s biggest attraction! Our audition provides graduating seniors the opportunity to audition for up to 60 top dance programs all at once. At least 60% of schools will accept submissions through the DTCB audition.
