DTCB AUDITION

Our auditions provide up to 60 dance programs the opportunity to

field up to 290 for admissions and scholarships. Students eligible for

college admissions in Fall 2026 can audition either virtually in their

preferred space, or in-person at AMDA during our 2025 APPLY event!

IMPORTANT NOTES

• The DTCB Audition is approximately 1 hour long with Technique, Creative Practice / Improvisation, and Repertoire portion.
  • Technique: This section of the audition aims to showcase student’s technical capacities. In this context, we utilize the term “technique” as a very broad term to describe formalized training in dance styles that demonstrate line and shape in the body, rhythm, weightedness, and connectivity of movement.
  • Creative Practice: This section of the audition is aimed at showcasing the auditionees’ abilities to make creative choices in improvisational and collaborative contexts. 
  • Repertory: This section of the audition aims to showcase the auditionees’ ability to learn and retain choreography, implement feedback, and perform.
• ALL Programs on the Audition Panel must have a representative at both the In-person and Virtual Auditions or available to view footage from both.
• Programs are only permitted to bring 1 Program Representative to sit on the In-Person Audition Panel. Please email dtcb@dancewave.org to discuss any possibility to bring additional Panelists.
