The BFA in Dance develops well-rounded, versatile artists who are technically proficient, have a broad range and deep understanding of their work, and are prepared for a variety of careers within and beyond the field of dance. The BFA is based in Contemporary Dance Practices in Ballet, Modern, African Diaspora dance techniques and choreography. Ballet classes follow the AMERICAN BALLET THEATRE’s National Training Curriculum.
Our holistic approach includes a combination of studio and theory classes such as Hip Hop, Composition, Repertory, Creative Process, Creating Dance Histories, Dancing Cultures, and Dance Science and Somatics. Elective courses include Pointe, Jazz, Hip Hop, Tap, and Yoga. Moreover, you will have the opportunity to minor or double major in another area of study.
