Movement Master Classes

Dancing together outside of the Auditions is an important part of DTCB. Students who purchased the Complete/PLUS package will automatically be enrolled for our live movement Master Classes, held via Zoom on Friday evenings during the event. Students are able to add-on a Master Class later in September – registration coming soon!

Building Your 5-Year Portfolio Plan

How can dancers take advantage of their college years to build the bridge to their future careers? In this two-part workshop, students will clarify strategies for thinking about and taking actions to build skills and resilience as dance makers and thinkers. Week 1 will focus on tasks and goals in Freshman and Sophomore years. Week 2 will look at ways to build opportunities in Junior and Senior years and beyond.

Julia K. Gleich is a choreographer and teacher with over 25 years experience in dance education including the University of Utah and Manhattanville College, and Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, and London Studio Centre where she was Head of Choreography. She has choreographed over 30 works for her Brooklyn-based contemporary ballet company, Gleich Dances. (Read more)

Senior Managing Editor at Dance Media

Madeline Schrock is a New York–based editor and journalist. As Dance Media’s Senior Managing Editor, she primarily works on Dance Magazine and Pointe, and has been with the company since 2011. Originally from Floyds Knobs, Indiana, Schrock studied ballet at Southern Indiana School for the Arts and was later introduced to modern dance by Bill Evans. She has a BFA in Dance Performance and Choreography from Ohio University’s Honors Tutorial College.

Sindy Folgar-Llumipanta (Ballet)

Dancewave Director of Community Programs & Partnerships

Sindy Folgar is a native of Guatemala where she began her studies receiving a BA from Escuela Nacional de Danza. She received a BFA in Dance from Marymount Manhattan College. Ms. Folgar holds an MA degree in Dance Education, Teaching Dance in the Professions The American Ballet Theater Pedagogy from New York University. Sindy Folgar is an ABT Certified Teacher, who has successfully completed the ABT Teacher Training Intensives in Primary through Level 7 and partnering. Ms. Folgar was also on faculty of The Ailey School, and recently served Program Director of the School at Peridance.
